From the moment
we are born and introduced into society, we are bombarded with
conditioning from many directions. We are taught how to feel,
think, react, perceive, judge, and behave from sources such as
educational systems, religious systems, governmental institutions,
our parents, our peers, the media, and social environments.
We can all agree that there are obvious benefits gained through some
of this programming process. Learning how to communicate through
speech, learning how to solve mathematic equations, learning to look
both ways before crossing the street, and learning how to prepare food
are all learned skills and processes that can improve the quality of
our lives.
At the same time, much of the programming, conditioning, and
socialization process that many of us have gone through has side
effects that can be quite limiting and conflict-inducing. Unfortunately, many of the sources that feed us information are
outdated, distorted, and lead us away from our greatest
self-potential.
Many of these designed systems were set into place way before our
conception and are precisely geared towards the sole benefit of
others. For example, many of the sources who claim to be in our best
interest really intend to control and manipulate us for their own
financial gain, righteousness, and personal power. It's one of the
oldest tricks in the book.
More than often, in the end, we are left feeling empty, full of fear,
hate, insecurity, and depression. We are left striving towards
happiness from the next product we are going to buy, thinking we will
be attractive if we take these pills and make our bodies look this
way, or we keep a job that we don't like because we don't think we can
do any better. We are left living lies that keep us from our greatest
potential of true intelligence, creativity, intuition, self-worth,
freedom, and enjoyment.
"Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts."
Albert Einstein
It's nearly impossible to live in any society and not be at least somewhat a product of the distorted conditioning of that society. At the same time, there is hope. There are specific steps that we can take to start rising above the limiting conditioning that we have allowed others to program into us or that we have programmed into ourselves.
In the space beyond our conditioning, beyond our programmed thought process, a higher intelligence awaits us. As we gain more and more of an awareness of this higher level of perception, we are able to see the bigger picture of life. We begin to see beyond the second-handedness of our identity.
We realize we have more choices than just what others have told us or what we read in some book. We realize that we don't have to follow the herd, especially if it is headed towards the edge of the cliff. In this space, beyond the rigid thinking/emotional machine, is where we gain greater intelligence, intuition, joy, and clarity.
If you aren't doing them already, here are some steps you can take to start transcending beyond the conditioning and programming, to the “you” that is greater and wiser than any outside source of information:
Pay close attention to sources of information that claim elitism and all-knowingness or encourage non-examination, dependence, or exclusiveness..
Play more games like imagining if you were raised in another culture with radically different conditioning - Do you think you would have the same beliefs that you have today about religion, culture, marriage, wealth, etc? If you were born and raised in Africa, India, or Russia, do you think you would have the beliefs of that cultural conditioning? Would you be thinking that you are right and that other cultures are wrong just as the people in your culture do today? Imagine what it would be like to be a fly on the wall and see yourself from that outside perspective.
Certain types of training are aimed at helping you to transcend beyond limiting conditioning, programming, and socialization. Check out books and courses that contain this type of specialized training. If you can find something locally, great. If not, check out our correspondent training: Psychic Development Course
Engage in more self-monitoring and questioning of your thoughts, beliefs, emotional reactions, and actions (most of which are learned). When you get to the source of your programming and conditioning, question the intentions, authority, and credibility of that source from a truly objective viewpoint.
